I have been so blessed to hang with this lil fam as they grow over the years. They are the sweetest bunch around and DANG these kids are cute. Each time they add to their crew we think "ok, theres no way the new baby is going to be as cute, its just too good to be true" but LOOK AT THEM. Little angels!Read More
When Missy hit me up about doing a yoga session somewhere fun, I instantly was like YEP. Missy teaches kids yoga and is soon headed to Guatemala to study permaculture. She's one of those people that you can talk to for hours, even if you haven't known each other long. Her website will be coming soon, so stay tuned if you're looking for an awesome yoga practice for kids of any age.Read More
You guys might be familiar with two of my favorite models, Mackenzie and Jerad, but these two just know how to throw down in front of the lens. We hiked to Cherry Creek Falls in Bellevue, WA, for this styled elopement. We got a little rained on, but it was worth it. Doesn't her dress remind you of Jenny from Forrest Gump?Read More
Valerie and Phil's wedding was nothing short of sunny, golden magic. After shooting their engagement I knew they were a happy, fun-loving pair, and it was awesome to see how that extended to the family and friends that surrounded them. Their wedding at Laurel Creek Manor, in Sumner, WA, was full of romantic details.Read More
Being a photographer can lead you to meet some pretty awesome people, especially other photographers! After chatting in our photo groups, BreeAnna and I decided it was pretty imperative that we at least grab coffee, since we're both cats-and-europe loving 20-something photographers. We met near the University district and of course managed to grab a few shots of each other - let me tell you its a weird feeling to be on the other side of the lens! This gorgeous girl on the other hand, photographs like a breeze :)Read More
Mackenzie has been one of my favorite models through the years, so when I found out she was dating a hometown boy, Jerad, I jumped at the chance to shoot with them together. We met in Bellevue for a cloudy day engagement themed session - can you believe we were only blocks from the suburbs? I love finding hidden gems like this park that feel so secluded but only take a second to get to :)
Ok I'm the worst for just now blogging these - they're from last summer and I clinged to them on my computer because they were just so much fun to work with. Valerie and Phil's wedding was last weekend and it was just as golden and magical as this special day was. We hung out on a private beach and even got in the water under the boardwalk. It was a pnw-paradise.
This little lady just got married and she was one gorgeous bride! We met at the studio in Pioneer Square to snag some special pics for her soon to be husband. Now that Hannah has given him the little black book (aka the perfect wedding present) we're sharing a few select shots on the blog.
Another pair of gorgeous people helping my visions come to life. What do you get when you combine a 70s inspired dress with farmers market flowers and a whole lot of rain on the side of a mountain? Some pretty amazing light and some very pacific-northwesty vibes. Jack and Christine let me drag them all over the muddy foothills of Mount Si (literally) but I think it was worth it :)
You know when sometimes you get to know someone and you're like ok get in front of my camera immediately? Maybe that's a photographer thing but the struggle was real after a full season of hanging out with Heidi and Travis watching the bachelor. I was able to convince them shortly after the final rose and soggy old Seattle dried out a bit. These two are getting married this fall, but not until Heidi and I go to Portugal first with our friend Emily! Bon voyage!
THIS wedding is going to be the wedding of the century. Two cougs surrounded by like a billion coug friends and like a trillion bottles of wine in the middle of the state, what could be better. Georgina and Dylan are kind of like that cool couple that make everyone around them feel like they're having the time of their lives. Basically like very badass camp counselors. I know I had an amazing time running all over the city doing this shoot with them!
PS: Of course like any good Seattle session, we started off with raw oysters, and didn't last long til we had to duck in a German bar for a beer. We added in a little Pioneer Square bean bag toss for good measure.
Guys, a gorgeous fashion blogger lives like five blocks from me. When Emma got in touch to capture the vibe of this outfit, I was all on board! Check out her blog when you need some style inspiration: emmasedition.com!
When David popped the question and Laura said yes, pretty much 8 years worth of Alpha Phi alumna collectively jumped for joy. We've been blessed to get to see their joyful romance grow over the years. Can you believe they have their 10 year dating anniversary coming up this fall?! After all this time, they still have that look in their eye where you're just like shoot... I hope I find that some day. True love does exist! Plus they constantly make each other laugh - which made for a super fun, sunny shoot for us!
They told me we wouldn't be able to do snow in April! Good thing I had the dream team for this amazing styled shoot. Once again, hair and makeup provided by the incomparable Chelsi Freeborn. Seriously, do yourself a favor and call Seven salon in Bellevue and ask for Hunter. You will not regret it.
I had a vision for this shoot in my mind and needed the perfect pair to make it come to life, and by golly I got em. Would you believe these two met that morning! Huge thanks to them for the snowy scrambling we did throughout the day - I think it paid off! Thank you both so much for being my muses.
Ok one more thing... it turned out we had SO much extra babies breath by the end of the day. So we decided to just take it to the most hipster pnw place possible...
Yeah its silly but we couldn't resist!
Let me tell ya bout my best frieeennndddd... from sorority sisters to roommates to coworkers and everything in between, the last seven years with this girl has been a wild ride. Its so much fun to be a photographer when your best friend is photogenic af. To celebrate her new job at Seven Haircare, we trounced around pioneer square and appreciated all the bomb ass textures. Got some total coven vibes, but w a bff this fierce you're kinda just like k murder me.
Looking for the ultimate PNW couple? Emily and Nick hike all summer, brew kombucha, and live in a tiny house. But they're totally not portlandia hipsters, they're just the nicest most fun couple you've ever met. I've gotten to spend the last 20 years with Emily going camping and watching the bachelor, and her friendship is one of my life's treasures. Nick is also a true gem - I may have cried like a weenie at their wedding vows. Their anniversary is coming up this spring, and what better way to commemorate than a sunny sunday hike?
Anyone who knows me knows how annoyingly vain I am about my hair. There's only one person who I'd trust with it, my wonderful and insanely talented friend and stylist Chelsi. She makes me feel like a loreal model, even though I'm the worst and only get it dealt with professionally twice a year. She's an actual magician, I swear. So when she wanted to start brainstorming about a styled bridal shoot with some editorial vibes, I jumped at the chance. It just so happens that she has a drop dead gorgeous sister who looks like a cross between Leighton Meester and Snow White, as well as a pretty dang dapper brother-in-law who's willing to put up with three girls playing dress up. We dragged them up a muddy hill, in the rain, to get to an enchanted forest with a waterfall. It was breathtaking. Check it out.
Remember my cousin Sam's wedding and engagement session from last October? Well meet her brother Nathan and his wonderful fiancée Meagan. Nathan is training to be a pilot, so we got to hang out in the hangar before heading down to the beach with their hyper and sweet dog Grace.
Rain or shine in Seattle, you gotta march around in the nasty woods and enjoy the outdoors. Sele/Squeals/Allie McSqueals and I did just that a few weekends ago. We couldn't wait any longer for summer.
99 days til these guys are standing up at the altar saying "I do"! Hannah is my old pal from our days working at a little private school in Queen Anne. We became friends in about 2 seconds, and not too long after, she and Josh started dating. I swear, the first time she began to tell me about him, just by the look in her eyes you could tell he was the one. She knew the jig was up. And a few short years later, he confirmed what we all already knew - they were in it forever. Being around the two of them kinda makes you think maybe romantic comedies aren't that cheesy, maybe sometimes they're 100% real. And they just happen to be going on in the lives of your very awesome work-wife. I guess now that we're both at different jobs, I'll let Josh make her a real wife ;)
PS: Josh proposed at Elliot Bay Book Company, so we started our little jaunt about town there. Too sweet.
