Kristine + Greg Couples Photos in Seabrook, WA

Family and Portrait Photography in Seabrook, Washington

In September, I photographed my sister-in-law Kristine, her husband Greg, and their dog Vail on the beach in Seabrook, Washington. The day was cloudy and calm, which made for even light and soft colors. Sessions like this show why Seabrook is one of my favorite places for portraits.

Why Seabrook Works for Portrait Sessions

Seabrook sits on the Washington coast, surrounded by open beaches, trails, and quiet neighborhoods that all photograph beautifully. The town’s layout makes it easy to reach the water within a few minutes, and the muted coastal tones complement every type of portrait, from families and couples to solo sessions. Even when the weather changes, Seabrook light stays consistent, which helps create natural, true-to-life images.

For families, it’s an easy place to relax in front of the camera. Kids and pets can move freely without crowds or traffic nearby. For couples, the coastline adds just enough drama without needing to travel far from where you’re staying.

What to Expect During a Seabrook Photo Session

Most sessions in Seabrook last about an hour. I keep the process simple so you can enjoy being outside instead of posing nonstop. We move between a few spots on the beach or in town, depending on the light and tide. Cloudy conditions, like Kristine and Greg’s session, usually mean we can shoot anywhere without harsh shadows.

Pets are always welcome. Including dogs in family photos adds movement and real connection, and the wide beaches give them room to explore while we work.

Ideal Times of Year for Seabrook Photos

The Seabrook area photographs well year-round, but late spring through early fall offers the most flexibility. Summer brings longer evenings and soft golden light. Early fall, like our September session, is quieter and often overcast: ideal for even skin tones and natural color. If you’re visiting in winter, indoor options or protected coastal trails still work well for portraits.

Session Types Available in Seabrook

I offer several types of sessions in the Seabrook area:

  • Family Photography: relaxed sessions on the beach, along the dunes, or in nearby wooded areas.

  • Portrait Sessions: individual or couples’ portraits that highlight natural light and simple composition.

  • Engagement Photography: sessions designed around your trip itinerary or proposal plan.

  • Elopements and Proposals: small, intentional celebrations that can take place on the beach or in one of Seabrook’s coastal overlooks.

Each session includes planning guidance, location coordination, and digital delivery of your images.

Planning a Seabrook Session During Your Vacation

If you’re traveling to Seabrook for a vacation, scheduling a session is simple. Once you know your travel dates, I’ll help you choose a time that fits the tides and weather. Early evening and morning sessions tend to have the best light and fewer people on the beach.

You don’t need to over-plan outfits or props; neutral tones, layered textures, and clothing that moves easily work best against the natural backdrop. If you have kids or pets, I’ll structure the session so they can take breaks and move around freely.
