Pullman Engagement Session: Emily Rose + Stephen

Now here is a place that is very near and dear to my heart. Emily Rose’s family is from Pullman, WA, which is also where we met almost 10 years ago! We both joined the same sorority (yes she was my favorite during recruitment, sorry everyone else), and last fall I got to stay with her family for Apple Cup at WSU! Emily Rose and Stephen were in town from San Fransisco (they now live in Austin!), and we knew we needed something that would be epic, but not too far from the tiny town of Pullman.

Enter Steptoe Butte. Steptoe Butte is a little point out in the middle of the rolling hills of the Palouse. From about halfway up, you can see the hills for miles. These kooky looking hills were created by the Missoula Floods, thousands and thousands of years ago. The floods carved out what we know now as the Columbia River Gorge, but over in the south east corner of the state, they left these rolling hills which are actually ripple marks from the rushing water! I’m kind of a sucker for interesting geology, and had dreamed of watching these hills stretch as far as the eye could see since my undergrad days. This session finally made those dreams come true!
