Kevin and Rachel’s engagement session was going down, rain or shine. We were in the middle of a season where just about every session was getting rained out, and for theirs we decided to buckle down and power through. We headed up to the rooftops of Seattle between Pike Place and Pioneer Square, and were surrounded by stormy, moody clouds. After a few laughs and a bit of dancing, we traveled over to Pioneer Square for an outfit change and droplet dodging. Rachel had mentioned that she really wanted twinkly lights, and I was kind of like “…wellllllll maybe they’ll have them out”. We turned the corner onto the plaza and WOW! The lights lit up the puddles in the bricks and made for the most sparkly moment ever.
Few things get me as hyped as an urban elopement in the city at golden hour. Seattle is the perfect place to say I do, especially when its just you two! (A RHYME!!) The Pioneer Square neighborhood is home to the best brick walls, vining ivy, and edgy textures. On our way to the courthouse, we had to hit up a little secret spot to get some pictures with the sun over the beautiful Puget Sound. One amazing thing about the courthouse in Seattle is its crazy view of the entire city. There’s even a terrace on the 14th floor that overlooks everything from the Port of Seattle to Smith Tower. I had such a fun afternoon bopping around with these two, I think we all fell even more in love with the city that day!
Right now I’m sitting in a coffee shop writing this just steps from where we did this darling engagement shoot with Stephanie and Alex! They wanted something that reflected the city they love, Seattle. We met at Specialty’s Bakery downtown, and from there walked through downtown to Pioneer Square! I actually just parked my car near these rooftop shots only moments ago, before I head to shoot a courthouse elopement on this sunny Tuesday afternoon. I can’t believe its January, and it was late fall when we did these engagement shoots as well! Seattle, especially downtown, has been so sunny lately!
